The Reason Why Pros Hit Irons So Solid

From Eric Corgorno Golf on Youtube

What I want to do if I want to hit my irons really solid and high and far is I want the shaft lean, but I also want to have a shallow angle of attack. How do I do that?

Well, this left shoulder working down and forward gets the low point forward. That allows us to get the handle forward. As I start to pull my left shoulder up and back behind me so like a circle behind me.

As my shoulder works down and forward, my hands work down and forward. Once I reach that point here, now about where the club’s parallel to the ground, my shoulder is going to work up and back. And so from here, my hands work up and back, which allows me to get the handle forward and still have a very shallow angle of attack, which is the part that allows me to hit the ball really solid.

So I want to feel the shoulder down and forward first. I’m just gonna hit a couple shots with that if I’m working on that. Left shoulder down and forward to start the downswing. (Swing) And that’s gonna get me my compression.
